Ashley Escobar (she/her) has been training dogs and their people for over 20 years. She is a retired college professor of mathematics with a masters of mathematics and also holds a master’s degree in veterinary science, with advanced veterinary coursework and a background in clinical canine rehabilitation also studying animal biomechanincs.
Ashley began her professional work in clinically based canine rehabilitation and later transitioned into injury prevention, fitness, and performance conditioning for sport and working dogs. She is a Certified Canine Fitness Trainer (CCFT) as well as a Certified Human and Canine Physical Trainer, specializing in conditioning programs that integrate physiology, biomechanics, and performance demands. Ashley brings a science-driven, evidence-based approach focused on long-term soundness and athletic longevity.
She is the owner of Ashley’s Dog Sports, LLC and the Canine Performance Institute, where she teaches workshops nationwide, conducts performance-specific consultations, offers private lessons, and leads group classes in agility, canine conditioning for performance dogs, and conformation handling.
Ashley has titled her own dogs in agility, conformation, obedience, and rally. She shares her life with her two Border Collies, Teal! and Indigo, her retired versatile Australian Shepherd Starr, and her up-and-coming bred-by Australian Shepherd Summit, whom she co-owns with her daughter. Her current sport dogs are emerging agility competitors and can often be seen demonstrating skills in her classes.
Both of Ashley’s children compete in dog sports with their dogs across a variety of disciplines. She also coaches a large group of junior handlers locally and travels with them to competitions.

Regardless of the breed, when a dog nails their free stack in the ring… it is the total WOW factor! In this class, we will take free stacking, handler mechanics, fitness, gaiting and more to the next level. We will be breaking down the behaviors and building the muscles that go into developing a SHOWY show dog. We will also work on a conditioning routine meant to keep your show dog in show shape. There will be work on both ends of the lead.

Start by clicking on the Course Schedule link at the top of this page. If registration is open, select the course you wish to take from the list and click on that link. From that page, click on the registration link and choose the enrollment level you are interested in. This webpage describes the steps in more detail.
Registration opens on the 22nd of the month preceding the course start date (ie March 22 for courses beginning April 1st) and close on the 15th day of the month the session has started (ie April 15 for courses starting April 1st). You cannot register for 6 week courses outside of this period.
Scholarships are offered to students who do not feel they can afford the full tuition, but who have a sincere interest in expanding their skills as a dog sport trainer. Scholarships are offered in the form of a 50% tuition credit at the Bronze level. To apply, select the Scholarships link from the top menu (under new students) or click this link. We ask that if you are on a scholarship, you limit yourself to one class. There are a maximum of three scholarships per student permitted in a calendar year.
